Moorpark Gears Up for Cinco de Mile Family Fun Run at Arroyo Vista Park
Community event combines fitness, culture, and local pride with mariachi music and authentic tacos
(CLAIR | Moorpark, CA) — Moorpark is building another reason for families to come together and celebrate what makes this community special. The city announces its Cinco de Mile Family Fun Run on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at Arroyo Vista Park, combining fitness, culture, and local flavor into one energetic celebration.
The event transforms the scenic trails at Arroyo Vista Park into an interactive experience where participants run or walk while collecting La Loteria tickets along the route. Participants who complete La Loteria challenges earn prizes, while those who finish the full 5K distance by completing three laps receive special recognition.
Arroyo Vista Park provides the perfect backdrop for this community event. Located at 4550 Tierra Rejada Road, the park's trail system offers families a safe and beautiful setting to participate together, regardless of fitness level or age.
The celebration continues after the run with authentic cuisine from El Pollo Corona Grill, bringing delicious tacos to fuel participants and families.
Music adds another layer of local pride to the celebration. The Chaparral Middle School Mariachi Band will perform during the lunch, showcasing the talent that exists here in Moorpark schools.
Registration: Adults can register for $25, while youth registration costs $15. Both options include lunch and an event t-shirt. Early registration by April 15th guarantees t-shirt size availability. Participants are encouraged to plan ahead.
The city makes registration convenient through multiple options. Families can register online, visit the Arroyo Vista Recreation Center in person, or call (805) 517-6305 to complete their registration over the phone.
