Comedy Returns to High Street with National Headliners

(CLAIR | Moorpark, CA) — High Street will host a live comedy show on July 10, 2026, featuring four stand-up comedians with national credits and decades of combined stage experience.

Mark Christopher Lawrence will host the evening. Lawrence has shared stages with Robin Williams, Jerry Seinfeld, Sinbad, Rodney Dangerfield and Jeff Foxworthy during a career as an international headliner. His work spans comedy clubs and larger venues across multiple countries.

The lineup includes Darren Carter, who bills himself as "The Party Starter" and has spent more than 20 years performing observational and physical comedy. Carter built a reputation for high-energy sets and tours regularly across the United States.

Justin Sherman, a stand-up from Omaha, Nebraska, will also perform. Sherman co-hosts the podcast "Everything Reviewed" and has appeared on "Laughs" on Fox. He performs in clubs nationally and opens his sets by making sure the audience knows exactly where he is from.

Chris Angel rounds out the bill. Angel left a career in medical marketing to pursue stand-up full time, a move he describes as less stable but more honest.

The show is billed as clean comedy, meaning performers avoid explicit language and adult-only content. Organizers note that while the material is appropriate for general audiences, it is written for adults and often touches on relationships and everyday life. They recommend treating the show as PG-13.

High Street has hosted live entertainment in the past, though comedy showcases of this scale remain less common in the city. The July 10 event brings professional touring acts to a local venue, offering a chance to see working comedians without traveling to Los Angeles or Ventura.

For tickets ($30 each) and showtimes go to highstreetartscenter.com. The lineup suggests a night built around experience and range, with performers who have tested their material in clubs across the country and know how to work a room.

Live comedy remains one of the few entertainment formats where the experience depends entirely on the people in the room. No two shows are identical, even with the same lineup. High Street is giving local audiences a chance to be part of that.
